A recently uncovered CIA document has reignited curiosity with its astonishing account of a supposed UFO event. This brief declassified report, initially made public in 2000, recounts a perplexing incident from the Cold War era.
Unveiling a UFO Encounter in the Siberian Wilderness
After the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, the CIA reportedly acquired a 250-page KGB dossier describing a disturbing UFO sighting.
The file details an episode during a military drill in late 1980s or early 1990s Siberia, where a contingent of Soviet troops witnessed a “saucer-shaped spacecraft” flying at low altitude.
Amidst the event, one soldier, driven by fear or intrigue, launched a surface-to-air missile that successfully brought the craft down.
According to the report, the crashed vessel released five diminutive humanoid figures distinguished by their “enlarged heads and prominent black eyes.”
The document states these entities then combined into a glowing orb radiating an intense, buzzing light.
"23 soldiers who witnessed the event were instantly turned into stone pillars," the report reveals. Only two military personnel emerged unharmed.

Petrified Troops and Alien Wreckage Sent to a Secret Moscow Facility
Following the undisputed petrification, the stone-like bodies and UFO debris were transported to a classified research center near Moscow.
Researchers at this site reportedly found the soldiers' transformed remains to have a composition akin to limestone.
The report mentions, "Experts believe an unknown energy source altered the molecular structure of the soldiers' bodies, converting them into a material indistinguishable from limestone."
Additionally, a CIA operative is quoted describing the scene as “a horrific picture of revenge on the part of extraterrestrial creatures, a picture that makes one’s blood freeze.”
The same agent warned that if the document's claims are accurate, they imply that “aliens possess technology and weaponry far beyond human understanding, capable of defending themselves if provoked.”

Reigniting the Ongoing UFO Debate
The resurfaced CIA files have sparked renewed interest amid growing public discussions on UFOs and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs). Since the U.S. Department of Defense launched the UAP Task Force in 2020, these mysteries have entered mainstream dialogue.
This particular episode gained wider exposure following its mention on The Joe Rogan Experience. However, some experts remain doubtful.
Mike Baker, a former CIA officer, expressed skepticism to Fox News, noting, “If an incident did occur, the initial report is likely very different from the versions circulating now, which seem heavily distorted after multiple retellings.”
